From the heights thou didst descend, O compassionate One, and thou didst submit to the three day burial, that thou might deliver us from passions. Thou art our life and our resurrection, O Lord, glory to thee.

انحدرتَ من العلوّ يا متحنن, وقبلتَ الدفنَ ذا الثلاثةِ الأيامِ, لكي تُعْتِقَنا من الآلامِ, فيا حياتَنا وقيامَتَنا يا ربّ المجدُ لك.

TROPARION OF THE SAINTS IN TONE 4
O Christ God, in all the world thy Church adorns herself with martyrs' blood as with purple cloth and fine linen. She cries out to Thee: Send thy mercy upon thy people, grant peace to thy people, and on our souls great mercy.

TROPARION OF SAINT JAMES, IN THE FOURTH TONE
Ѕince, thou art a disciple of the lord, thou didst receive the gospel, O righteous one, and since thou art a martyr thou art never rejected, And since thou art a brother of the Lord, thou art privileged, and since Thou art high priest, it is thine to intercede. Wherefore, beseech thou Christ God save our souls.

To Thee, O Lord, creator of all the world, the universe offers to thee the God-bearing Martyrs as nature's first‑fruits. Thus, preserve thy Church in the profoundest peace by the prayers of the pure Theotokos, O most merciful One.

أيها الرب البارئ الخليقة, إن المسكونة تقدم لك الشهداء اللابسي الله كبواكير الطبيعة. فبتوسلاتهم احفظ كنيستك في سلام دائم, من أجل والدة الإله, يا جزيل الرحمة.

The Reading from Saint Paul's letters to the Hebrews.( Hebrews 11:33-12:2)
Brethren, all the saints through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righ­teousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became mighty in battle, put to flight foreign armies. Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, in order to obtain a better resurrection. Others underwent ridicule and scourging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were put to test, were slain with the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, afflicted, tormented; of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in caves and holes in the ground. Yet all these, though they were commended for their faith, did not receive the promise, since God had provided something better, so that they would not be made perfect apart from us. Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every impediment, and the sin which entangles us, and let us run with steadfastness the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.
الرسالة
عجيبٌ هو اللهُ في مقادسِِه, في المجامعِ باركوا الله.
فصلٌ من رسالةِ بولس الرسولِ إلى العبرانيين
يا إخوةُ, إن القديسين أجمعين بالإيمانِ أخضعوا الممالكَ وأقاموا العدلَ ونالوا المواعدَ وسدوا أفواهَ الأسودِ وأخمدوا لهيبَ النيران ونجوا من حدّ السيف, وتغلبوا على الضعفِ وصاروا أبطالا في الحروبِ وهزموا جيوشَ الغرباءِ, واستعاد نساءٌ أمواتَهن بالقيامة. ومنهم من احتملَ التعذيبَ ورفضوا النجاةَ رغبةً في قيامةٍ أفضل, وآخرون قاسوا الهزءَ والجلدَ, بل القيودَ والسجن. ورجموا ونُشروا وقتلوا بحدّ السيف, وهاموا على وجوهِهم, لباسُهم جلودُ الغنم والماعز محرومين مقهورين مظلومين, لا يستحقّهم العالمُ, فتاهوا في البراري والجبالِ والمغاورِ وكهوفِ الأرض.ولم يحصلْ هؤلاء على الموعدِ مع أنهم مشهودٌ لهم بالإيمان, لانّ الله أعدّ لنا مصيراً أفضلَ من مصيرِهم وشاء أن لا يصيروا كاملين إلا معنا. لذلك فنحن الذين تُحيط بهم هذه السحابةُ الكثيفةُ من الشهود, علينا أن نُلقي عنا كلّ ثقلٍ وما يكتنفنا من خطايا, فنجري بعزمٍ في ميدانِ الجهادِ المُمْتدِ أمامنا, ونجعلُ نصبَ أعيننا رأسَ إيماننا ومكملّه يسوع.
THE GOSPEL
The Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Saint Matthew.
Matthew 10:32-33, 37-38 19:27-30
The Lord said to his disciples, "Every one who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven. He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. And he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me." Then Peter said in reply, "Lo we have left everything and followed you. What then shall we have?" Jesus said to them, "Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of man shall sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for my name's sake, will receive a hundred-fold, and inherit eternal life. But many that are first will be last, and the last first."

الإنجيل
فصلٌ شريفٌ من بشارةِ القديسِ متى
قال الرب لتلاميذه: "من اعترف بي أمام الناس, أعترف به أمام أبي الذي في السماوات. ومن أنكرني أمام الناس, أنكره أمام أبي الذي في السماوات. ومن أحب أباه وأمه أكثر مما يحبني, فلا يستحقني. ومن أحب ابنه أو ابنته أكثر مما يحبني فلا يستحقني. ومن لا يحمل صليبه ويتبعني, فلا يستحقني. ومن حفظ حياته يخسرها, ومن خسر حياته من أجلي يحفظها.
وقال له بطرس: "ها نحن تركنا كل شيء وتبعناك, فماذا يكون نصيبنا؟" فأجاب يسوع: "الحق أقول لكم: متى جلس ابن الإنسان على عرش مجده عند تجديد كل شيء, تجلسون أنتم الذين تبعوني على اثني عشر عرشا لتدينوا أسباط إسرائيل الإثني عشر. وكل من ترك بيوتا, أو إخوة, أو أخوات, أو أبا, أو أما, أو زوجة, أو أبناء, أو حقولا من اجل اسمي, ينال مائة ضعف ويرث الحياة الأبدية. وكثير من الأولين يصيرون آخِرين, ومن الآخِرين يصيرون أولين."
