حطّمتَ بصليبِكَ الموتَ وفتحتَ للصِ الفردوس, وحوّلتَ نوحَ حاملاتِ الطيبِ, وأَمَرتَ رسلَك أن يكرزوا بأنّك قد قُمتَ أيّها المسيحُ الإلهُ مانحاً العالمَ الرحمةَ العظمى.

The Reading from Saint Paul's first letter to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 1:10-17 )
Brethren, I appeal to you by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and in the same will. For it has been reported to me concerning you, my Brothers and Sisters, by those of Chloe's household, that there are quarrels among you. What I mean is that each of you says, "I belong to Paul," or "I belong to Apollos," or "I belong to Cephas," or "I belong to Christ." Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, so that no one can say that you were baptized in my name. Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any other. For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of reason, so that the cross of Christ night not be emptied of its power.
الرسالة
الربّ يؤتي العزةَ شعبَه, قدّموا للربّ يا أبناءَ الله, قدّموا للربّ مجداً وعزاً.
فصلٌ من رسالةِ القديسِ بولس الرسولِ الأولى إلى أهل كورنثس.
يا إخوة, أناشدُكم باسمِ ربّنا يسوع المسيح أن تكونوا جميعاً متفقين في الرأي وأنْ لا يكونَ بينكم خلافٌ, بل كونوا على وفاقٍ تام, لكم روحٌ واحدٌ وفكرٌ واحد. فقد أخبرني عنكم أيها الاخوة أهلُ بيتِ خلوة أن بينكم خلافاً, أعني أن كلّ واحدٍ منكم يقول "أنا مع بولس" و "أنا مع أبلوس" و "أنا مع بطرس" و "أنا مع المسيح." هل تجزّأ المسيح؟ هل بولس هو الذي صُلب من أجلكم؟ أو باسمِ بولس تعمّدتم؟ أحمدُ اللهَ أني لم أعمّدْ أحداً منكم سوى كريسبس وغايس, فليس لأحدٍ أن يقولَ إنكم باسمي تعمّدتم. بلى لقد عمّدت أيضا عائلةَ استفاناس. وما عدا هؤلاء فلا أذكرُ أني عمّدت أحدا. فالمسيحُ أرسلني لا لإعمّد, بل لأعلنَ البشارةَ غير معوّلٍ على حكمةِ الكلامِ لئلا يبطلَ صليبُ المسيح.
THE GOSPEL
The reading from the holy gospel according to Saint Matthew (Matthew 14:14‑22 )
At that time, As Jesus went ashore he saw a great throng; and he had compassion on them, and healed their sick. When it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a lonely place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves." Jesus said, "They need not go away; you give them something to eat." They said to him, "We have only five loaves here and two fish." And he said, "Bring them here to Me. "Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass; and taking the five loaves and the two fish he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children. Then he made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds.
الإنجيل
فصلٌ شريفٌ من بشارةِ القديسِ متى
في ذلك الزمان: لما نزل يسوع من القارب رأى جموعا كبيرة, فتحنّن عليهم وشفى مرضاهم. ولما كان المساء دنا منه تلاميذه وقالوا: "المكان مقفر وقد فات الوقت, فاصرف الجموع ليذهبوا إلى القرى فيشتروا لهم طعاما." فأجابهم يسوع: "لا حاجة بهم إلى الذهاب. أعطوهم أنتم ما يأكلون." فقالوا له: "ليس عندنا هنا غير خمسة أرغفة وسمكتين." فقال يسوع: "هاتوا ما عندكم." ثم أمر الجموع أن يقعدوا على العشب, وأخذ الأرغفة الخمسة والسمكتين, ورفع عينيه نحو السماء وبارك وكسر الأرغفة وأعطى تلاميذه, والتلاميذ أعطوا الجموع. فأكلوا كلهم حتى شبعوا, ورفعوا ما فضل من الكسر اثنتي عشرة قفة مملوءة. وكان الذين أكلوا نحو خمسة آلاف رجل ما عدا النساء والأولاد. وأمر تلاميذه أن يركبوا القارب ويسبقوه إلى الشاطئ المقابل حتى يصرف الجموع.

When Mary stood at Thy grave, looking for Thy sacred body, angelic powers shone above Thy revered tomb. And the soldiers who were to keep guard became as dead men. Thou led Hades captive and wast not afflicted thereby. Thou didst meet the Virgin and didst give life to the world, O Thou, Who art risen from the dead, O Lord, glory to Thee.

Section from the Epistle of St.Paul to the Romans(15:1-7)
Ye brethren: We that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself ; but as it is written ,the reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. For what so ever things were written aforetime were written for learning , that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: that you may with one mind and mouth glorify God , even the father of our Lord Jesus Christ . wherefore receive ye one another , as Christ also received us ,to the Glory of God.

خلص يا رب شعبك وبارك ميراثك اليك يا رب اصرخ الهي
فصل من رساله القديس بولس الرسول الي أهل روميه (15:1-7)
يا اخوه يجب علينا نحن الاقوياء ان نحتمل وهن الضعفاء ولا نرضي انفسنا ,فليرض كل واحد منا قريبه للخير لاجل البنيان ,فان المسيح لم يرضي نفسه ولكن كما كتب تعييرات معيريك وقعت علي ,لان كل ما كتب من قبل انما كتب لتعليمنا ليكون لنا الرجاء بالصبر وبتعزيه الكتب ,وليعطيكم اله الصبر والتعزيه ان تكونوا متفقي الاراء فيما بينكم بحسب المسيح يسوع ,حتى انكم بنفس واحده وفم واحد تمجدون الله ابا ربنا يسوع المسيح ,من اجل ذلك فليتخذ بعضكم بعضا كما اتخذكم المسيح لمجد الله .
The Gospel
From St.Matthew(9:27-35)
At that time: When Jesus was passing by ,two blind men followed him, crying aloud and saying ,”have mercy on us ,Son of David .“when he entered the house ,the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them ,”do you believe that I am able to do this?” they said to him,” Yes ,Lord “then Jesus Touched their eyes ,saying “According to your faith be it done to you .”and their eyes were opened .and Jesus sternly charged them ,”see that no one knows it .”but they went away and spread his fame through all that district. As they were going away ,behold ,dumb demoniac was brought to Jesus .and when the demon had been cast out ,the dumb man spoke ;and the crowds marveled ,saying ,”never was anything like this seen in Israel .”but the Pharisees said ,”he casts out demons by the prince of demons “and Jesus went about all the cities and villages ,teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom ,and healing every disease and every infirmity of the people .

فصل من بشاره القديس متى(9:27-35)
في ذلك الزمان فيما يسوع مجتاز تبعه اعميان يصيحان ويقولان ارحمنا يا ابن داوود,فلما دخل البيت دنى اليه الاعميان فقال لهما يسوع هل تؤمنان اني اقدر ان افعل ذلك .فقالا له نعم يا رب حين اذن لمس اعينهما قائلا كايمانكما فليكن لكما .فانفتحت اعينهما .فانتهرهما يسوع قائلا انظرا لا يعلم احد. فلما خرجا شهراه في تلك الارض كلها.وبعد خروجهما قدموا اليه اخرس به شيطان .فلما اخرج الشيطان تكلم الاخرس .فتعجب الجموع قائلين لم يظهر قط مثل هذا في اسرائيل .اما الفريسيون فقالوا انه برئيس الشياطين يخرج الشياطين .وكان يسوع يطوف المدن كلها والقرى يعلم في مجامعهم ويكرز بشاره الملكوت ويشفي كل مرض وكل ضعف في الشعب.

خلصنا يا ابن الله يا من تجلى على جبل ثابور نحن المرتلين لك هللويا

TROPARION OF THE RESURRECTION IN THE FIFTH TONE Let us believers praise and worship the Word, coeternal with the Father and the Spirit, born of the Virgin for our salvation, for he took pleasure in ascending the cross in the flesh, to suffer death, and to raise the dead, by His glorious Resurrection.

THE EPISTLE
The righteous shall rejoice in the LORD, Hear my voice.
The reading from saint's Paul second letter to Timothy (2 Timothy 2:1-10) Timothy, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And what you have heard from me through many witnesses, commit these to faithful people who will be able to teach others also. You must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one serving in the army entangles himself with the affairs of this life, so that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. The hard-working farmer ought to have the first share of the crops. Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things. Remember that Jesus Christ, a descendant of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel, for which I suffer hardship as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained. Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

يفرحُ الصِّديقُ بالربِ استمع يا الله لصوتي
فصلٌ من رسالةِ القديسِ بولس الثانية الثانية إلى تيموثاوس
يا ولدي تيموثاوس، كُنْ قَوِيّا بِالنِّعمَةِ التي في المَسيحِ يَسوعَ، وسَلِّمْ ما سَمِعتَهُ مِنِّي بِحُضورِ كثيرٍ مِنَ الشُّهودِ وديعَةً إلى أُناس أُمناءَ يكونونَ أهلاً لأنْ يُعَلِّموا غَيرَهُم. شارِكْ في ا‏حتِمالِ الآلامِ كَجُندِيٍّ صالِـحٍ لِلمَسيحِ يَسوعَ. فالجُندِيُّ لا يَشغَلُ نَفسَهُ بأُمورِ الدُّنيا إذا أرادَ أنْ يُرضِيَ قائِدَهُ. والمُصارِعُ لا يَفوزُ بإِكليلِ النَّصرِ إلاَّ إذا صارَعَ حسَبَ الأُصولِ. والزّارعُ الذي يَتعَبُ يَجبُ أنْ يكونَ أوَّلَ مَنْ يَنالُ حِصَّتَهُ مِنَ الغَلَّةِ. إفهَمْ ما أقولُهُ لكَ، والرَّبُّ يَجعَلُكَ قادِرًا على فَهمِ كُلِّ شيءٍ. وا‏ذكُرْ يَسوعَ المَسيحَ الذي قامَ مِنْ بَينِ الأمواتِ وكانَ مِنْ نَسلِ داودَ، وهِيَ البِشارَةُ التي أُعلِنُها. وأُقاسي في سَبـيلِها الآلامَ حتى حَمَلتُ القُيودَ كالمُجرِمِ. ولكِنْ كلامُ اللهِ غَيرُ مُقَيَّدٍ. ولذلِكَ أحتَمِلُ كُلَّ شيءٍ في سبـيلِ المُختارينَ، حتى يَحصُلوا هُم أيضًا على الخَلاصِ الذي في المَسيحِ يَسوعَ معَ المَجدِ الأبدِيِّ
THE GOSPEL At that time, Jesus got into a boat, crossed over, and came to his own city. And behold, they brought to him a paralytic lying on his bed; and when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Take heart, my Son, your sins are forgiven you." And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This Man is blaspheming" But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts? For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven' or to say, 'Rise and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"--he then said to the paralytic, "Rise, take up your bed, and go home." And he arose and went home. When the crowds saw it, they marveled and they glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
الإنجيل
فصلٌ من بشارة القديس متى
في ذلك الزمان ركِبَ يَسوعُ القارِبَ وعَبَر البُحَيْرةَ راجِعًا إلى مدينتِهِ. فجاءَهُ بَعضُ النّاسِ بِكَسيحٍ مُلقًى على سَريرٍ. فلمّا رأى يَسوعُ إيمانَهُم قالَ للكَسيحِ: «تَشَجَّعْ يا ا‏بني، مَغْفورَةٌ لكَ خَطاياكَ». فقالَ بَعضُ مُعلِّمي الشَّريعةِ في أنفُسِهِم: «هذا الرَّجُلُ يُجدِّفُ!». وعرَفَ يَسوعُ أفكارَهُم، فقالَ: «لماذا تَظُنُّونَ السُّوءَ في قُلوبِكُم؟ أيُّما أسهَلُ؟ أنْ يُقالَ: مغفورَةٌ لكَ خَطاياكَ، أمْ أنْ يُقالَ: قُمْ وا‏مشِ؟ سأُريكُمْ أنَّ ا‏بنَ الإنسانِ لَه سُلطانٌ على الأرضِ ليَغفِرَ الخطايا». وقالَ لِلكسيح: «قُمْ وا‏حمِلْ سَريرَكَ وا‏ذهَبْ إلى بـيتِكَ». فقامَ الرَّجُلُ وذهَبَ إلى بَيتِه. فلمّا شاهَدَ النَّاسُ ما جرَى، خافوا ومَجَّدوا اللهَ الَّذي أعطى البشَرَ مِثلَ هذا السُّلطانِ.

Having learned the joyful message of the resurrection from the angel the women disciples of the Lord cast from them their parental condemnation, and proudly broke the news to the apostles: Death has been despoiled, Christ God is risen, granting the world great mercy.

TROPARION OF SAINT ELIAS IN THE FOURTH TONE
O angelic of body, pillar of the Prophets, the second forerunner of the Coming of Christ, the glorious Elias, you have sent grace from on high to Elisha to dispel sicknesses and to cleanse lepers. Wherefore, he overflows with healing for those who honor him.

O Protectress of Christians that cannot be put to shame, and their constant intercessor before the Creator, despise not the petitions of us sinners who are imploring thee; in thy goodness come to our help, who in faith cry to thee: hasten, O Theotokos, to intercede for us, and hurry to pray for us, for thou hast always protected those who honor thee.

THE EPISTLE
The reading is from Saint James' Universal Letter. Chapter 5:10‑20.
Brethren, take as an example of suffering and patience the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Behold, we call blessed those who were steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful. But above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath, but let your "yes" be yes and your "no" be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation. Is any one among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective. Elias was a man of like us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth its harvest. Brethren, if any one among you wanders from the truth and some one brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

يا إخوةُ، ا‏قتَدوا، بِالأنبِـياءِ الذينَ تكَلَّموا بِا‏سمِ الرَّبِّ فتَعَذَّبوا وصَبروا. وهَنيئًا لِلذينَ صَبروا. سَمِعتُم بِصَبرِ أيّوبَ وعَرَفتُم كيفَ كافأهُ الرَّبُّ. فهوَ رَؤوفّ رَحيمٌ. وقَبلَ كُلِّ شيءٍ، يا إخوَتي، لا تَحلِفوا بِالسَّماءِ ولا بِالأرضِ ولا بِشيءٍ آخَرَ. لِتكنْ نعَمُكُم نَعَمًا وَلاكُم لا، لِئَلاَّ يَنالَكُم عِقابٌ. هَلْ فيكُم مَحزونٌ؟ فَليُصَلِّ! هَلْ فيكُم مَسرورٌ؟ فليُسَبِّحْ بِحَمدِ اللهِ! هَلْ فيكُم مَريضّ؟ فليَستَدعِ شُيوخَ الكَنيسَةِ ليُصَلُّوا علَيهِ ويَدهنوهُ بِالزَّيتِ با‏سمِ الرَّبِّ. فالصَّلاةُ معَ الإيمانِ تُخَلِّصُ المَريضَ، والرَّبُّ يُعافيهِ. وإنْ كانَ ا‏رتكَبَ خَطيئَةً غَفَرَها لَه. ليَعْتَرِفْ بَعضُكُم لِبَعض بِخطاياهُ، وليُصَلِّ بَعضُكُم لأجلِ بَعض حتى تَنالوا الشِّفاءَ. صلاةُ الأبرارِ لها قُوَّةٌ عَظيمَةٌ. كانَ إيليّا بَشَرًا مِثلَنا في كُلِّ شيءٍ وصَلَّى بِحَرارةٍ حتى لا يَنزِلَ المَطَرُ، فما نَزَلَ المَطَرُ على الأرضِ مُدَّةَ ثلاثِ سَنواتٍ وسِتَّةِ أشهُرٍ. ثُمَّ عادَ إلى الصَّلاةِ، فأمطَرَتِ السَّماءُ وأخرَجَتِ الأرضُ خَيرَها. فيا إخوَتي، إنْ ضَلَّ أحَدُكُم عَنِ¸ الحقِّ ورَدَّهُ أحَدٌ إلَيهِ، فليَعلَمْ أنَّ مَنْ رَدَّ خاطِئًا عَنْ طريقِ ضَلالِهِ خَلَّصَ نَفسًا مِنَ الموتِ وسَتَرَ كَثيرًا مِنَ الخَطايا
THE GOSPEL
At that time, When Jesus came to the country of the Gergesenes, two demoniacs met Him, coming out of the tombs, so fierce, so that no one could pass that way. And behold, they cried out, "What have you to do with us, O Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?" Now a herd of many swine was feeding at some distance from them. And the demons begged Him, "If You cast us out, send us away into the herd of swine." And He said to them, "Go." So they came out, and went into the swine. And behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and perished in the water. The herdsman fled; and going into the city they told everything, and what had happened to the demoniacs. And behold all the city came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw Him, they begged Him to leave their neighborhood. And getting into a boat He crossed over and came to His own city.

فصلٌ شريفٌ من بشارةِ القديسِ متى
في ذلك الزمان, لماء جاء يسوع إلى أرض الجرجسيين, أستقبله رجلان خرجا من المقابر, وفيهما شياطين. وكانا شرسين جدا, حتى لا يقدر أحد أن يمرّ من تلك الطريق. فأخذا يصيحان:"ما لنا ولك, يا يسوع ابن الله؟ أجئت إلى هنا لتعذبنا قبل الأوان؟" وكان يرعى بعيدا من هناك قطيع كبير من الخنازير, فتضرع الشياطين إلى يسوع بقولهم:"إن طردتنا فأرسلنا إلى قطيع الخنازير." فقال لهم: "اذهبوا!" فخرجوا ودخلوا في الخنازير, فوثب القطيع كله من المنحدر إلى البحر وهلك في الماء. فهرب الرعاة إلى المدينة وأخبروا بما حدث وبما جرى للرجلين اللذين كان فيهما شياطين. فخرج أهل المدينة كلهم إلى يسوع. ولما رأوه طلبوا إليه أن يرحل عن ديارهم. فركب القارب وعبر البحيرة وجاء إلى مدينته.

THE GOSPEL

The Lord said: "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light; but if your eye is not sound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is dark­ness, how great is the darkness! No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink, nor about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. THE EPISTLE
Brethren, having been proven righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and boast in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also boast in afflictions, knowing that affliction produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For while we were still without strength, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would actually dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been put into a right relationship with God by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been recon­ciled, we shall be saved by His life. Not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received our reconciliation.

يا إخوةُ, لمّا نلنا البرّ نَعِمنا بالسلامِ مع اللهِ بربّنا يسوعَ المسيح, وبه دخلنا بالإيمانِ إلى هذه النعمةِ التي فيها نحن قائمون. ونفتخرُ على رجاءِ المشاركةِ في مجدِ اللهِ, بل نحن نفتخرُ بها في الشدائدِ لِعِلْمِنا أنّ الشدةَ تلدُ الصبرَ والصبرَ يلدُ الامتحانَ والامتحانَ يلدُ الرجاءَ والرجاءَ لا يخيّبُ صاحبَه, لانّ اللهَ سكبَ محبتَه في قلوبِنا بالروحِ القدسِ الذي وهبَه لنا. ولمّا كنّا ضعفاء مات المسيحُ في الوقتِ المحدّدِ من أجلِ الكافرين, وقلّما يموت أحدٌ من أجلِ إنسانٍ بار, فربّما جرَوُءَ أحدٌ أن يموتَ من أجلِ إنسان بار. أما الله فبرهنَ عن محبتِه لنا بأن المسيحَ مات من أجلنا ونحن بعد خاطئون. فكم بالأولى الآن بعدما نلنا البرّ بدمِه أن ننجو به من الغضبِ. وإذا تمّ الصلحُ بيننا وبين الله بموتِ ابنِه ونحن أعداؤه, فكم بالأولى أن نخلص بحياته ونحن مصالحون. بل نحن أيضا نفتخر بالله, والفضلُ لربّنا يسوع المسيحِ الذي به نلنا الآن هذه المصال

قال الربّ: سراج الجسد هو العين. فإن كانت عينُك سليمة, كان جسدُك كلّه منيرا. وإن كانت عينك مريضة, كان جسدك كله مظلما. فإذا كان النور الذي فيك ظلاما, فيا له من ظلام! لا يستطيع أحد أن يخدم سيدين, لأنّه إما أن يبغضَ أحدهما ويحب الاخر, وإما أن يلزم أحدهما وينبذ الاخر. فأنتم لا تقدرون أن تخدموا الله والمال. لذلك أقول لكم: لا يهمكم لحياتكم ما تأكلون وما تشربون, ولا للجسد ما تلبسون. أمَا الحياة خير من الطعام, والجسد خير من اللباس؟ انظروا إلى طيور السماء كيف لا تزرع ولا تحصد ولا تخزن, وأبوكم السماوي يرزقها. أمَا أنتم أفضل منها كثيرا؟ ومن منكم إذا اهتم يقدر أن يزيد على قامته ذراعا واحدة؟ ولماذا يهمكم اللباس؟ تأملوا زنابق الحقل كيف تنمو, فلا تتعب ولا تغزل. وأنا أقول لكم: إن سليمان نفسه في أبهى مجده لم يلبس مثل واحدة منها. فإذا كان الله هكذا يُلبس عشب الحقل وهو يوجد اليوم ويطرح غدا في التنور, فكم أنتم أولى منه بأن يلبسكم, يا قليلي الإيمان؟ فلا تهتموا فتقولوا: ماذا نأكل؟ وماذا نشرب؟ وماذا نلبس؟ فهذا يطلبه الوثنيون, وأبوكم السماوي عالم بأنكم تحتاجون إلى هذا كله. فاطلبوا أولا ملكوت الله وبرّه تُزادوا هذا كلّه.

Brethren, all the saints through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righ­teousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became mighty in battle, put to flight foreign armies. Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, in order to obtain a better resurrection. Others underwent ridicule and scourging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were put to test, were slain with the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, afflicted, tormented; of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in caves and holes in the ground. Yet all these, though they were commended for their faith, did not receive the promise, since God had provided something better, so that they would not be made perfect apart from us. Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every impediment, and the sin which entangles us, and let us run with steadfastness the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.

عجيبٌ هو اللهُ في مقادسِِه, في المجامعِ باركوا الله.
فصلٌ من رسالةِ بولس الرسولِ إلى العبرانيين
يا إخوةُ, إن القديسين أجمعين بالإيمانِ أخضعوا الممالكَ وأقاموا العدلَ ونالوا المواعدَ وسدوا أفواهَ الأسودِ وأخمدوا لهيبَ النيران ونجوا من حدّ السيف, وتغلبوا على الضعفِ وصاروا أبطالا في الحروبِ وهزموا جيوشَ الغرباءِ, واستعاد نساءٌ أمواتَهن بالقيامة. ومنهم من احتملَ التعذيبَ ورفضوا النجاةَ رغبةً في قيامةٍ أفضل, وآخرون قاسوا الهزءَ والجلدَ, بل القيودَ والسجن. ورجموا ونُشروا وقتلوا بحدّ السيف, وهاموا على وجوهِهم, لباسُهم جلودُ الغنم والماعز محرومين مقهورين مظلومين, لا يستحقّهم العالمُ, فتاهوا في البراري والجبالِ والمغاورِ وكهوفِ الأرض.ولم يحصلْ هؤلاء على الموعدِ مع أنهم مشهودٌ لهم بالإيمان, لانّ الله أعدّ لنا مصيراً أفضلَ من مصيرِهم وشاء أن لا يصيروا كاملين إلا معنا. لذلك فنحن الذين تُحيط بهم هذه السحابةُ الكثيفةُ من الشهود, علينا أن نُلقي عنا كلّ ثقلٍ وما يكتنفنا من خطايا, فنجري بعزمٍ في ميدانِ الجهادِ المُمْتدِ أمامنا, ونجعلُ نصبَ أعيننا رأسَ إيماننا ومكملّه يسوع.
THE GOSPEL

Matthew 10:32-33, 37-38 19:27-30
The Lord said to his disciples, "Every one who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven. He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. And he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me." Then Peter said in reply, "Lo we have left everything and followed you. What then shall we have?" Jesus said to them, "Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of man shall sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for my name's sake, will receive a hundred-fold, and inherit eternal life. But many that are first will be last, and the last first."

وقال له بطرس: "ها نحن تركنا كل شيء وتبعناك, فماذا يكون نصيبنا؟" فأجاب يسوع: "الحق أقول لكم: متى جلس ابن الإنسان على عرش مجده عند تجديد كل شيء, تجلسون أنتم الذين تبعوني على اثني عشر عرشا لتدينوا أسباط إسرائيل الإثني عشر. وكل من ترك بيوتا, أو إخوة, أو أخوات, أو أبا, أو أما, أو زوجة, أو أبناء, أو حقولا من اجل اسمي, ينال مائة ضعف ويرث الحياة الأبدية. وكثير من الأولين يصيرون آخِرين, ومن الآخِرين يصيرون أولين."

THE EPISTLE
. The reading is from the Acts of the Apostles (Acts 2:1-11)
When the Day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and a tongue rested on each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them ability. And there were living in Jerusalem devout Jews, from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the crowd came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in the native language of each.
Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, "Are not those who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us, in our own native language? Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabs; we hear them speaking in our own languages God's deeds of power."
الرسالة
إلى كلِّ الأرض خرج صوتُهم, السماواتُ تذيع مجد الله.
فصل من أعمال الرسل القديسين الأطهار
ولما جاء اليومُ الخمسون, كان الرسلُ كلّهم مجتمعين في مكانٍ واحدٍ, فخرج من السماءِ فجأة دوي كريحٍ عاصفة, فملأ كل البيت الذي كانوا فيه. فظهرت لهم ألسنة كأنها من نار قد انقسمت فاستقر لسان على كل منهم, فامتلأوا كلهم من الروح القدس, وأخذوا يتكلمون بلغات غير لغتهم, على ما آتاهم الروح القدس أن ينطقوا. وكان في أورشليم أناس أتقياء من اليهود جاؤوا من كل أمة تحت السماء. فلما حدث ذلك الصوت تجمهر الناس, وأخذتهم الحيرة, لان كل واحد كان يسمعهم يتكلمون بلغته. فدهشوا وتعجبوا وقالوا: "أما هؤلاء المتكلمون كلهم من الجليل؟ فكيف يسمعهم كل واحد منا بلغة بلده؟ نحن من برثية ومادية وعيلام وما بين النهرين واليهودية وكبدوكية وبنطس وآسية وفريجية وبمفيلية ومصر ونواحي ليبية المجاورة لقيروان, ومنا من هم رومانيون يقيمون هنا ويهود ودخلاء وكريتيون وعرب! فإننا نسمعهم يتكلمون بلغاتنا على أعمال الله العظيمة.
THE GOSPEL
The Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Saint John. (John 7:37‑52; 8:12)
On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and proclaimed, "If any one thirst, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the scripture has said, ‘Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.' “Now this he said about the Spirit, which those who believed in him were to receive; for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. When they heard these words, many of the people said, "This is really the prophet." Others said, "This is the Christ." But some said, "Is the Christ to come from Galilee? Has not the scripture said that the Christ is descended from David, and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David was?" So there was a division among the people over Him. Some of them wanted to arrest Him, but no one laid hands on Him. The officers then went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, "Why did you not bring Him?" The officers answered, "No man ever spoke like this man!" The Pharisees answered them, "Are you led astray, you also? Have any of the authorities or of the Pharisees believed in Him? But this crowd, who do not know the law, are accursed". Nicodemus, who had gone to Him before, and who was one of them, said to them, "Does our law judge a man without first giving him hearing and learning what he does?" They replied, "Are you from Galilee too? Search and you will see that no prophet is to rise from Galilee." Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
الإنجيل
فصلٌ شريفٌ من بشارةِ القديسِ يوحنا
في آخر يوم من العيد, وهو أعظم أيامه وقف يسوع وقال بأعلى صوته: "إن عطش أحد فليجئ إلي ليشرب, ومن آمن بي, كما قال الكتاب, تفيض من جوفه أنهار ماء حي." وأراد بقوله الروح الذي سيناله المؤمنون به, فلم يكن الروح القدس قد أعطي حتى الآن, لان يسوع لم يتمجد بعد. فقال كثيرون ممن سمعوا كلام يسوع: "بالحقيقة هذا هو النبي." وقال غيرهم: "هذا هو المسيح!" وقال آخرون: "أمن الجليل يجيء المسيح؟ أما قال الكتاب إن المسيح يجيء من نسل داود, ومن بيت لحم مدينة داود؟ فوقع بين الناس خلاف في شأنه. وأراد بعضهم أن يمسكوه, ولكن لم يمد أحد يدا عليه. ورجع الحرس إلى رؤساء الكهنة والفريسين, فقال لهم هؤلاء: "لماذا لم تأتوا به؟" فأجاب الحرس: "ما تكلم إنسان قط مثل هذا!" فقال لهم الفريسيون: "أخُدعتم أنتم أيضا؟ أرأيتم واحدا من الرؤساء أو الفريسيين آمن به؟ أما هؤلاء العامة من الناس الذين يجهلون الشريعة فهم ملعونون." فقال نيقوديموس, وكان من الفريسيين, وهو الذي جاء قبلا إلى يسوع: "أتحكم شريعتنا على أحد قبل أن تسمعه وتعرف ما فعل؟" فأجابوه: "أوأنت أيضا من الجليل؟ فتش ترَ أنه لا يقوم من الجليل نبي." وكلمهم أيضا يسوع قال: "أنا نور العالم من يتبعني لا يمشي في الظلام, بل يكون له نور الحياة
